Phnom Penh, April 8, 2026 — H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, received a delegation from Haier Haitech, led by Mr. Liu Wei, General Manager, to discuss the company’s plans to invest in technology manufacturing, digital solutions, and the tech workforce development in Cambodia.

The Minister said, “We commend the progress of your plans to establish production in Cambodia, and MISTI stands ready to support your operations, including factory layout, permits, and industrial property protection.”
He also encouraged the company to adopt phased approach with a pilot project that could demonstrate impact and scalability before rolling out the solutions nationwide.

In Phase 1, the company plans to introduce e-education solutions through affordable tablets, supported by comprehensive education and vocational training platforms. “You could begin with a pilot project in introducing your products and solutions. From there, we can engage broader stakeholders and seriously consider the next steps forward,” he added.
Mr. Liu Wei reaffirmed Haier Haitech’s long-term commitment to Cambodia, highlighting the company’s approach of combining technology transfer with local capacity building.

“We do not want to only sell products; we want to bring technology, establish production, create jobs, train local talent, and work with Cambodia for the long term,” he said.
