UNIDO has recognized MISTI Gender Working Group, led by H.E. Secretary of State Lay Navinn, as the winner of the UNIDO Gender Equality Mobilization (GEM) Award 2026.

This award recognizes the dedicated efforts and strong collaboration between MISTI and UNIDO in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment within Cambodia’s green industrial sector.

UNIDO said: “The MISTI Gender Working Group has demonstrated exceptional leadership in integrating gender-responsive strategies into green industrial policy, contributing to the empowerment of women across the nation's industrial landscape.”

The recognition coincides with the “International Day of Women in Industry,” that celebrates women's critical contributions to industrial development, manufacturing, and technology, and calls for a more inclusive and equal future in industry worldwide.
