Siem Reap, May 5, 2025 — On the sidelines of World Intellectual Property Day 2025, H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ken Natsume, Assistant Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), to advance collaboration on strengthening Cambodia’s intellectual property system.
The meeting focused on key priorities, including enhancement of Cambodia’s E-Filing and Intellectual Property Automation System (IPAS ) to streamline IP registration and drive its digital transformation.
Both sides also discussed cooperation on modernizing the Patents and Industrial Designs Law to align with international trends, building capacity for effective implementation of the Design Law Treaty, and receiving WIPO’s technical support in drafting the Law on Integrated Circuits as well as the Patent and Industrial Design Manual.
Minister Vanndy commended WIPO’s long-standing support, highlighting milestones such as Cambodia’s accession to major international treaties, recent digital upgrades, and the launch of online IP filing services.
