On July 31, 2024, H.E. Dr. Nhim Khemara, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, attended a Business Luncheon organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The event, themed “Super-connecting New Pathways to Success: Hong Kong - Cambodia Partnerships in Fostering Mutual Prosperity and Economic Development,” was presided over by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and H.E. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

The luncheon aimed to explore untapped opportunities, facilitate networking, exchange views on economic and investment prospects, and strengthen the trade partnership between Cambodia and Hong Kong.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce was signed. This agreement seeks to enhance cooperation in promoting industry, technology transfer, capacity building for officials, entrepreneurship, and the development of SMEs.
