Phnom Penh, March 4, 2025 – H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, has called for policy adjustments to boost productivity and drive Cambodia’s economic transformation and diversification during a panel discussion at CDRI’s Cambodia Economic Outlook 2025 on "Cambodia's New Growth Strategy: Opportunities for High-Quality and Sustainable Development."

Minister Vanndy emphasized the critical role of SMEs and their integration into foreign direct investment (FDI) supply chains. He highlighted the need to enhance productivity through skill development, technology adoption, and machinery upgrades. He also called for policy adjustments to accelerate the adoption of automation, ensuring that Cambodian industries remain competitive in an evolving global market. He urged the financial sector to back this pivot.
